SigmaTEK Systems, LLC launched an all-new mini-series, American Made, in the spring of 2017. The first episode of the series premiered Thursday, May 11th when the duo met with CEO, Don Colbertson at Omni Technologies. The series features SigmaTEK’s Cornel Warren and Jandre TerreBlanche getting their hands dirty in a variety of manufacturing settings. Throughout the season, the duo visits Omni Technologies, CES Freezing and Braun Ambulance, attempting to build complex products from start to finish.

“The concept behind American Made grew from a deep respect we have for the manufacturing process,” says Cornel Warren, Director of Marketing & Inside Sales at SigmaTEK. “We wanted to give the community a closer look at how things really go in our nation’s job shops and industrial facilities.”

The series is a celebration of the U.S. manufacturing and fabrication industry and SigmaTEK has opened the door for any fabrication shop to be featured. For a chance to be featured, manufacturers can visit

Product Update: SigmaNEST 3D for 4,5 and 6-axis profiling

The evolution of the fabrication industry and the increasing complexity of the machines available to drive productivity, demands a revolution of the software and processes used. A three-dimensional viewpoint of sheet cut parts eliminates the limitations of a two-dimensional view. Simulating parts in a 3D environment allows you to see how the machine reacts when cutting.

SigmaNEST 3D is yet another example of SigmaTEK’s on-going commitment to delivering elegant software through continuous innovation. SigmaNEST 3D is fully integrated within SOLIDWORKS and allows in- context simulation and collision detection. The system’s powerful 3D modeling gives optimal visualization while providing full control over 3D cutting with increased precision and repeatability. The software is easy to learn and use, eliminating the need for CAD translation, saving programming time and reducing errors. SigmaNEST 3D can replace many cutting operations, resulting in reduced costs and improved precision.

SigmaTEK Systems, the world’s leading CAD/CAM nesting solution provider, has released the latest version of their superior software, SigmaNEST X1.3. The new release offers new features and significant improvements which is part of SigmaTEK’s on-going commitment to delivering elegant software through continuous innovation.

The most advanced organizations around the world are using SigmaNEST to help them complete mission-critical work. With SigmaNEST X1.3, fabricators can expect to see increased speed and quality as the software allows their machines to achieve peak performance.

SigmaNEST X1.3 introduces a multitude of additional innovations including:
•    New CAD Repair Geometry
•    New PDF and Image Import Modules
•    New Task Parameter Dialog Box
•    Enhanced features for punching
•    New Common Line Punch Features
•    New SigmaNEST help Center

SigmaNEST is now available as a 64-bit program, giving SigmaNEST access to more memory on computers with a 64-bit operating system. In addition, nesting improvements now allow the HD TrueShape Plus nesting engine to operate faster and more efficient than ever and provide the best yield possible.

SigmaNEST X1.3 also contains an advanced Pre-Form Punching feature which protects parts with formed features from damage by reordering the interfering hits, designating a “crush zone” around each forming hit, and comparing it to the station diameter of nearby hits. If these zones overlap, the nearby hits are designated as pre-form punching hits, which can be reordered in Tool Sort. This update allows for greater efficiency and less wasted valuable material.

Jim Lindsey, Director and Product Manager at SigmaTEK, believes the new release will enable companies to improve efficiencies and is a significant step towards complete automation. “Our SigmaNEST customers and partners drive our product direction. With SigmaNEST X1.3, we continue our commitment to our customers. This release covers improvements for every type of user in the areas of nesting, NC functions, user interface and help files.”
