Agellis Group AB has received an order totaling 200 KEuro for a level measuring system from a smelter plant in Africa.

The order relates to a level measuring system (EMLI-S) for a copper smelting furnace.  The system with sensors is patented and measures the liquid metal level in real time in the furnace. The output from the system will give the customer more information about the melting progress in the furnace which will result in process optimization and a higher yield capability. The order consists of the measuring system, commissioning, spare parts and training.

2016-01-28 102323The first delivery will be completed before the end of 2015 with the second delivery, including commissioning, occurring in the first half of 2016.

"Due to the low metal prices in the world, capital investment has been slow during 2016 and therefore this order for our patented EMLI-S system is very important for Agellis. Our current EMLI-S customers have acted as references and the order shows that our customers see a great value in our measurement systems, says Patrik Bloemer, CEO of Agellis."

For competitive reasons Agellis chooses not to mention the end user plant by name.

Agellis electromagnetic products are based on a common electronic platform called EMLI. Our thermographic products are based on infrared cameras and unique user software and server solutions.

The EMLI-S (Smelter) system measures the liquid metal level in a furnace in real time. An accurate measurement of metal levels in the furnace is a prerequisite for higher yield and an increased quality of the metal produced.

Agellis Group has been granted a patent for the technology used in the products EMLI-ELP and EMLI-FBL in Chile. Chile is an important market for the Agellis Group’s Technology with many potential non-ferrous customers and the granting of this patent plays an important strategic role for Agellis.

logoThis patent is an important part of Agellis patent strategy; to be unique in the area of level measurement of molten metal and slag. The patent gives Agellis protection from competition in both the steel industry (EMLI-FBL) and in the non-ferrous metals industry (EMLI-ELP).

“The Chilean non-ferrous metals industry is of great interest to us and has strong potential for sales of Agellis products. With the patent in place we gain confidence in the knowledge that we have the protection to increase our sales activity in this market, says Patrik Bloemer, CEO of Agellis.”

Agellis electromagnetic products are based on a common electronic platform called EMLI. Products within thermography are based on infrared cameras and unique user software and server solution.

EMLI-ELP (Electromagnetic Level Profiling) measures with high accuracy the different layers of material in a furnace, such as metal and slag. An accurate level measurement of the different layers in a furnace is a prerequisite for higher yield and increased quality of the metal produced.

EMLI- FBL (Furnace Bath Level) automatically measures the bath level in an EAF with high accuracy, reliability and safety. A reliable measurement of the steel bath level taken while electrode power is on or off helps operators make processing decisions that can help to increase production, improve safety and reduce maintenance.

Agellis Group AB has received an order totaling 130 KEuro for a slag detection system from a steel plant in Mexico.

logoThe order relates to a slag detection system for ladles (EMLI SIL) which detects the onset of slag in the tapping stream to help reduce slag carryover to the tundish when casting. The order is divided into two parts with a performance guarantee between the two deliveries. The first part of the delivery is the system and sensors for a limited number of ladles, while the second delivery will consist of all the sensors required to equip the rest of the ladles plus spare parts and system education.

During 2015 the first delivery will be completed with the second delivery including commissioning occurring in the first half of 2016.

"Mexico is a very interesting market for Agellis and our increased sales efforts in this area have achieved results. Existing installations in Mexico have proven to be references for us, says Patrik Bloemer, CEO of Agellis."

For competitive reasons Agellis chooses not to mention the end user plant by name.

Agellis electromagnetic products are based on a common electronic platform called EMLI. Products within thermography are based on infrared cameras and unique user software and server solution.

The EMLI-SIL (Slag Indication Ladle) indicates with a high accuracy when slag appears in the steel stream. The sensor is very close to the steel and must therefore meet very high survival and environmental standards. Accurate slag detection in the steel stream is a prerequisite for a smooth, high quality steel production.

logoAgellis Group AB has received an order totaling 150 KEuro for an upgrade of two level measuring systems. The order comes from a copper plant in Europe.

The order relates to the measurement systems “EMLI-T” and EMLI-M”. The systems measure metal level in a runner and respectively in a mould. The systems are installed in a continuous casting machine and are very important for the quality and yield of the product produced.

Delivery and installation is expected to be made during the fourth quarter of 2015.
"The plant is very satisfied with our measuring solutions and with the upgrade they can increase the quality on the products produced, says Patrik Bloemer, CEO of Agellis." For competitive reasons Agellis chooses not to mention the end user plant by name.

“All Agellis products are based on a common electronic platform called EMLI. EMLI T (Tundish) measures the metal level in a tundish or runner with high accuracy, independent of slag and powder thickness. A reliable measurement of the metal level in the tundish or runner helps the plant to increase production and obtain a higher yield.

The EMLI-M measures molten metal with high precision in the mould during casting.

The sensor is very close to the metal and must therefore meet very high survival and environmental standards. Good level measurement of the molten metal in the mould is a prerequisite for a smooth, high quality metal production.”

logoAGELLIS Group, which develops and sells products and solutions to the global metals industry, has received an order totaling 380 KEuro for a measurement system at a copper smelting plant in Europe.

The order relates to a system (EMLI-ELP) that will measure material levels, temperature and also take samples in a copper smelting furnace. The same customer had
previously purchased two EMLI-S systems from Agellis for real-time level measurement of furnace metal levels. The new system will give the customer more information about the process in the furnace and will also provide calibration data to improve the accuracy of the existing EMLI-S systems.

The EMLI-ELP system is expected to be delivered during the third quarter and handed over to the customer during the fourth quarter of 2013.

"A close collaboration with the customer and understanding his needs has laid the ground for this order. Agellis EMLI-ELP has until now been used in silica and platinum furnaces and this order is an important reference for the copper market." says Patrik Bloemer, president of Agellis.
