Russia is an important market for solutions relating to all aspects of welding technology
SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN, the world's leading trade fair for welding and cutting, focuses on cooperation with successful foreign trade fairs with related subjects. This gives companies the opportunity to make business contacts in important sales markets. The most recent example is the Russian welding trade fair weldex. From 15 to 18 October, more than 180 companies and institutions from 14 countries will present their products and services at the ECC Sokolniki exhibition center in Moscow. With the support of DVS - German Welding Society, Messe Essen is organizing a German joint stand there for the first time for German companies with products relating to all aspects of the subject field of welding and cutting, sponsored by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Technology.
Ten companies, among them Durum Verschleißschutz, will present their products and solutions "Made in Germany" to the international trade public. Durum Managing Director Peter Knauf: "For years, our Russian partners have been supporting us very successfully in our daily business in the local market. weldex is now an excellent opportunity for us to be personally on site for a few days, to cultivate contacts and to present our products and services even more closely. Wear protection is an exciting and important issue that can save companies a considerable amount of money. We have done a lot of research and development in this area." In addition to other exhibitors, TÜNKERS Maschinenbau will also be represented on the joint stand. The company has been active in the Russian market for 20 years already.
As the seventh-largest steel producer, Russia is an important market
Russia is a significant market for companies involved in all aspects of welding devices and equipment. The country is the seventh-largest producer of steel in the world. Technology and know-how are needed for further processing as well as for numerous infrastructure and construction projects. The weldex trade fair will offer a comprehensive overview of welding devices, materials and robots on around 9,000 square meters. There will also be an attractive supporting programme. The "Welding of Aluminium" conference will focus on modern technologies for the application of high-tech aluminium products in the aviation, shipbuilding and automotive industries, transport technology and the construction industry. Manufacturers and integrators of welding devices and technologies will meet up within the framework of a round table of experts to present innovations for improving welding fabrication and product quality. Perspectives for robotics and the automation of welding production as well as the presentation of new solutions and developments of the largest manufacturers in the market will be the focal points of the Industrial Robots Conference. Young and experienced welders will provide insights into their skills within the framework of the competitions "The Best Welder 2019", "The Best Young Welder 2019" and "Miss World Welder 2019".

Cooperation Allows Companies to Enter a Market with a High Demand
From now on, Messe Essen is closely collaborating with Weldex, Russia's most important fair for welding technology. Within the framework of this cooperation, Messe Essen's team is responsible, amongst other tasks, for the German-language marketing of Weldex in the region covering Germany, Austria and Switzerland and is organising the "German Pavilion" promoted by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs. With this collaboration, the world's leading fair in Essen SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN is strengthening its foreign commitment. Companies are thus being given the possibility of presenting themselves on the Russian market in an easy and uncomplicated way.
"This collaboration entails genuine synergetic effects for the international welding sector," according to Oliver P. Kuhrt, CEO of Messe Essen. “In Russia, there is a great need for welding technology, equipment and material. Weldex is the optimum platform in order to reach this promising market. The impressive visitor growth of 14 percent last year shows the significance of this trade fair."
DVS - German Welding Society which has successfully proposed the German Pavilion also sees the German participation in Weldex positively: "We are giving the companies in welding technology the possibility of gaining a foothold in the international market," emphasised DVS General Manager Dr.-Ing. Roland Boecking. "Weldex is a good format for German industry to present itself in Russia and to build business relationships. Here, attention will focus on topical subjects such as automation, occupational health and safety and, of course, new welding technologies."
The target group for the visitors to Weldex includes decision takers, wholesalers and local companies and over 6,000 of them came to the last event at ECC Sokolniki in Moscow. In 2018, 177 exhibitors from 14 nations presented, amongst many other products, welding technology, industrial robots, tools and equipment for quality control. The event will be rounded off by top-class symposia, workshops and competitions.

As a result of the cooperation with Messe Essen, Weldex is expanding its international profile. It is now addressing Western-European exhibitors and trade visitors in a considerably stronger form.
